Accent Tool & Machine Ltd. was the inspiration and dreams of one man. Peter Fazackerley started Accent Tool in 1970 with the idea of designing injection moulds for the plastics industry. Peter was a Tool Maker by trade as was his father. Peter continued his education and became a skilled designer for tools and dies. He designed tooling from his first location in Bolton Ontario, for industries like aero space, vacuum cleaners, electrical components, and office furniture.
Through hard work, long hours, and true diligent Peter quickly grew the company to the point of not only designing tools but building them. In 1974 the company was incorporated. To Peter, a milestone in his dream. His wife Carol soon joined the company as the company took another leap and bought there first moulding machine. A 1979 28 Ton Arburg moulding machine. Still in use today and referred to as our “baby”. Again, another milestone.
In 1981 Peter and Carol to a giant leap of faith and bought their own building in Schomberg and moved the company from Bolton. This was a turbulent time in the economy. Interest rates were over 20%, but with long hours, perseverance and now the help of full-time employees, the company slowly flourished. With full attention given to quality, on-time delivery, and customer service, the company slowly grew, and in 1994 Peter and Carol outgrew the building in Schomberg and built the new building in Barrie Ontario. The same building we presently occupy.
By 1998, Peter and Carol were semi-retired and the company was being managed by their daughter and her husband Andy & Lisa Matheson. Sadly, in 2002 Peter passed, but his legacy still lives on. Many of the systems still in use today were put in place by Peter and his vision.
The Company was sold by Carol to Andy & Lisa in 2005 and continues to be owned, operated, and run as a family business. All of the customers have remained the same, and thanks to a great staff and their continued support, the company has continued to cultivate relationships between new and existing clients. In 2020 there was a corporate restructuring of the shares, and the company was re-named Accent Tool Limited. All the same people, all the same clients, just a change in corporate structure.
